01

Planning and Evaluation:

Our experienced arborists begin by carefully evaluating the tree’s size, condition, and surroundings. Factors such as the tree’s lean, potential obstacles, and the desired direction of fall are assessed. This information helps us plan the cutting and removal process accordingly.

Establishing Safety Measures:

Safety is our top priority during the removal of a large tree. Our team sets up safety ropes, harnesses, and other equipment to prevent accidents and protect nearby structures. We create a clear work zone and ensure that all necessary safety protocols are followed.

Making the Initial Cuts:

To ensure a controlled fall, the process begins with creating a notch cut on the side of the tree that is facing the intended direction of the fall. The notch cut involves making an angled cut horizontally into the trunk, followed by a straight downward cut. This creates a notch-shaped groove that guides the tree’s fall.

Creating the Backcut:

Next, we move to the opposite side of the tree and make a horizontal backcut a few inches above the bottom of the notch. This cut is made on the same plane as the notch and goes through the trunk until it reaches the notch cut. The backcut releases tension and allows the tree to start falling.

Wedge Removal and Controlled Fall:

After the backcut, we carefully remove the remaining wood between the notch and backcut. This step involves a series of controlled cuts to prevent the tree from falling prematurely. Once the wood is removed, the tree starts to fall in the desired direction, guided by the notch cut.

Post-Fall Cleanup:

As the tree falls, our crew immediately secures the area and begins cutting the tree into manageable sections. We use chainsaws and cranes to safely remove the sections from your property. Our team works efficiently to minimize disruption and cleans up debris as we go.
